Okay, so I built the bug body and the bug lander section first. The fit was good on the lander (bottom section) but once the top and bottom sections of the bug were lined up and glued a lot of sanding had to be done on the bug sides.

As you can see, not many parts left.

The hatch/docking door had a rather large ejector pin mark in it, so I started to fill it with my own mix of sprue-filler.

On this shot you can see the sanding had begun on the bug sides.

More sanding.

The lander base was given a coat of gloss black as well as the bug itself.

Once dry the bug was sprayed with a rattle can of Humbrol silver.

I then hunted around for a tin of gold and found a very old jar of Tamiya X-12 Gold Leaf.
Mixed with thinners and sprayed on.

The bug still needed more sanding.

In this shot you can see that I have added the rear booster cones.
Please forgive me but I have not made the effort to find out the right names for each part.
Thanks for dropping by.

Wow its looking really good so far. I love the gold look on the bottom section.
Yea, your sprues looked very familiar so I went looking trough my stash and found the exact same ones with this LEM. I got this one a long time ago. Not the Revell you have but one from Heller. I got this one on sale once so I bought a couple of them. Heller part numer 019 did this LEM kit a while ago. I have no Idea what the relationship is with Revell and Heller is, but yup, same exact sprues. The only difference is the decals. Your Revell seems a bit better.
I hope you guys dont mind me sharing this stuff with you. I just love the history of these models and how they are similar with each other and all of it with space topics. One of my favorites.
Here is that model, just for your info if you want.

After more sanding on the bug sides I added the comms dishes and the front booster cones.

The access platform and ladder was assembled and sprayed with the Humbrol rattle can.

I decided to paint he booster cones Tamiya XF-63 German Grey.

The bugs top hatch or docking hatch (sorry I have no idea what it is) was painted with Humbrol Metalic Chrome Silver 191 Enamel.
I added lots of paint to the middle of the hatch so the paint would level out and hide any imperfections.
Once dry it was glued into place leaving only the decals to be added.
Thanks for dropping by.

Nice - I didn't know they made a 1/100 version. Some of the thruster parts must be really tiny!
