Hi All
I had a problem that I'm wondering if anyone encountered.
Building a JS3 Russian Tank
Did a primer coat, then sprayed a Russian Green top coat.
On that I sprayed TS-80 to seal and dull coat the paint work.
All good.Completed my decals, and another coat of TS-80

Left the whole thing for 24 hours (was busy on other stuff)

Came back and put a little Humbrol Enamel Thinner on to allow for an enamel wash.
When it started drying, I realized the thinner was eating straight through the dull coat and burning through the green paint layer.

Would anyone have any idea what I may have done wrong ?
I've seen it done many times on the net, and never heard of this before.
I'm kind of assuming it might be the Humbrol product but I'm not sure.

Humbrol enamel thinner is cellulose it is very strong. You would be better using artist white spirit for washes.

Enamel thinner is just that, diluting enamels for when painting with them and in a small amounts.

Thinking I might try Tamiya Enamel Thinner, seems a logical step on top of Tamiya Flat Coat.

Same stuff mate will eat into the dried paint! Suggest white spirit, artist turpentine, or art shop oderless thinners. They are less harsh and shouldn’t eat paint as long as you clearcoat first
