I love the Viper! My favorite one is the original 1996 GTS blue body, white stripes. An American classic for sure.

Needless to say, I'll be following.

I am now starting the kit, but upon close inspection a problem reveals itself, the grills on the bonnet (hood) are filled in, these need removing fot it to look authentic, my problem is, do I have the ability to do it, Tim seems to think I can, his confidence in me motivates me to try...

After battling with variuous tools and cursing Tim under my breath i have the first two done, its taken about an hour, but at least now i have a procedure.

Almost there, my thanks to Timothy Ivatts for his confidence in me and believing i could do it, thatss my first kit alteration, well successful one that is!

Ya there you go. A little smoothy smooth and some primer...better than it was new

I also placed all the small engine parts on cocktail sticks with either super glue or blue/white tack

I then started painting the pieces as per the instructions.

At this poin i had to stop and give the filters a good bashing they really required a beating as paint was begining to blow back into the room, and thats where i left it at the moment.

While various engine parts dry i started painting the rear base section of the Viper.

The brake discs also, unusually these discs have zero detail! but require a decal (provided) to be added in a future step.

Once cleaned up and painted they were left to cure, i returned to the engine and assembled all the painted engine parts.
