Al's Tamiya 1/35 M10 Wolverine

First build post!

Picked this little guy up at auction a couple of weeks back. Vintage kit by the looks of it. Tamiya released an updated version a couple of years back if I remember right.

The plan at the moment is an OOB build, keep the rubber band tracks (as any simulated sag will be pretty well hidden), might experiment with building some sandbags (never done it before and reference pics seem to show them stacked on the front for what I assume as added protection from small arms fire) and possibly an as-of-yet-undetermined dio down the road. Here's how it looks...

Going together fairly well, no major issues to report. Funny that a kit of this vintage goes together better than some more modern kits I've attempted to assemble recently. Check this timestamp out...



A product of the 70's, much like myself. Here's a question to you all...what's with the battery marking in the hull? I've seen this before and wonder if this kit might have been used in a motorized version at some point??

Yes, the battery markings are for motorized options since those used to be a lot more popular back when, or so I've heard. Interesting take on the interior they've done, very much shallower than I thought it would be.

Turret coming together, barrel too. I'm getting better at sanding two-piece barrels so I won't bother with aftermarket Smooth as silk once we're done with it.

Also, FYI, first time trying stretched sprue to make an antenna. Awesome little trick.
