Black Friday Trumpeter 1/16 Jagdtiger

Post by Stokesy44 »

Holy Smokes Batman

If anyone's interested I've just been on Amazon.co.uk and they've got Trumpeter's massive 1/16 Jagdtiger for £175.

I have no stake in this, I've just never seen it so cheap.
:cheers2:
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Great spot Stokesy and thanks for the tip :cheers2:

After 3 days “wringing my hands” I’ve decided to add it to the stash. By the time I get to build it, you’ll be able to buy it for a tenna on the middle aisle at Aldi. But it will be lovely to look at the box every time I go into the loft

Here at Spruebrothers who carries good prices as well for us US guys, sells it for $299 which is about 50 pounds more than your price. Great deal really. Love to keep in touch with good deals.

I'm still hovering over the trigger on this one. Maybe I'm baulking at the size but for the price its got to be worth it.......

Amazon delivered today and that was using the freebie delivery option - amazing service.

And talking of amazing, it’s a huge box :jd: . I just keep looking at it with what my wife describes as a stupid grin :th:

Can’t thank you enough Stokesy for pointing it out, it’s made me feel like a boy on Christmas morning.

Brilliant :th: :th: :th:

Completely understand the grin and that Christmas morning feeling - felt like that many a time!

The size of the JT scares me! - And its still on Amazon at the same reduced price.

In the end I went for a 1/16 Panzer IV with a Black Friday discount at Emodels. My real concern is when it arrives tomorrow I'll take one look at it and think, right, I want the JT now too!!!

I've got that and the T34 on my wish list. I've got a bike on the bench at present and a few more lined up followed up by a few cars.

:D exactly the point I made to swmbo, never had a model where the box came with an integrated handle.

The JT has 3 boxes within the outer packaging resulting in more stupid grin moments upon opening. Have you cracked the box open yet stokesy?

So, do and Mrs. Stokesy have a plan for garaging that monster when complete?

I initially baulked at the price of the kits but then I realised I could have the Pz IV AND the JT for roughly what my Fine Moulds Millennium Falcon cost 2 years ago I just had to do it!

Had to chuckle when it arrived. Amazon didn't even bother putting it in a box. They just taped it up, stuck an address label on it and sent it out! I'm not complaining, I ordered it on Thursday, it came on Friday - for the princely sum of £3.95 postage! :th:

Image

To give you an idea of size, the 1 piece lower hull fits snugly, length-wise, in the right hand box!

Image

This thing is so big I laughed my ass off when I opened it up!

Contacted Tamiya and asked if they sell TET by the bucket. Given their pricing policy they unsurprisingly said no! :(

I'm going to do a diorama on the dining table, just put a border on it and get a cement mixer to pour on the base. :D

I'm starting to sober up a bit when I look in the boxes. Biggest question now is when do I schedule the builds? I had planned to go ww2 / modern / ww2 / modern with my existing stash but I suspect the arrival of 'the 2 beasts' may cause an adjustment after Christmas
