Global Scale Modeller

I've had this kit in the stash for a few years and I decided to start it on New Year's Eve. This is a nice kit from Tamiya. It is the Vehicle from the "Dragon Wagon model from what I can gather. I'm thinking about pairing it with an Easy Eight Sherman that I have. It is a heavy box with lots of plastic that's for sure! I'm looking forward to building it.



I got pretty far (step 10 iirc) in just 2 days.

Got the figures built. I don't usually build them so I figure I might as well start now!

Looking good mate, I am in the progress of finishing my Dragon Wagon and sticking it on diorama base. As a kit it just falls together.

Make sure you file off the seam lines on the tyres though, otherwise they will stick out like a sore thumb on the finished model

Thanks for the advice! It's a little on the back burner right now since I'm focused on the Cars & Bikes GB, but I'll get back on it soon!

I was just looking at the bogie drive ( rear wheels ) set up and it must have been a real pain high wear pain in the butt for mechanics . Those chains would have been exposed to all the dirt and crap that wheels pick up. Travel at relative high speeds they would slap about as well. Not a very good design I would say.

Yeah I bet it was a beast to work on.

I decided to work on the figures and I am pleased (and a little surprised) with the results!

Made a little more progress with this build. The double winch system that sits on the back of the truck. This thing has a lot of parts. I only lost one!!!

Looks complicated - bet you're glad to have that bit out the way!

I loved building the winch, make sure you fit it before you glue the exhaust stack on, otherwise it won’t fit (experience talking )

lovely winch, a bit of grease on it here and there and you got it one.

All that winch detail will look beautiful under paint and weathering

Got some paint laid down and starting to get everything assembled.

Well, My 2 year old son decided he needed to play with my M26 recovery vehicle, LOL!



I posted this on a facebook group and a fellow from New Zealand reached out to be and sent the replacement parts! I should have it repaired in no time! Now I just have to actually finish the build!
