I choose a model I have had in my stash for 20-25 years...
The decals dident look good and also got stuck a little on paper in the box.
The model was made for LeMans 1989 (will try to find better original decales and build that too some time)

Found other decales from bestbalsakits and will make the car yellow with from-A sponsor.
Raced at Daytona 1992

Color: I will probably use Zero Paints - Newman Porsche Yellow ZP-1230
Primer: Ultimate grey on all except body where I will use Ultimate white
Chassie: Vallejo AIR Black
Details: a mix of Vallejo model color and Tamiya
Also Vallejo Metal Color - Gun metal on engine and brakediscs
Dark aluminium on engine and radiators
Metallic blue and red on hose joints

More to come and I guess I have missed some colors.

The Nissan R89C was a Group C race car developed by Nissan to participate in the World Sportscar Championship and All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, as well as the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Replacing the original March built series of prototypes that Nissan had used, the R89C was part of Nissan's increased involvement in the project. Developed in conjunction with the Lola firm, the R89C featured a Kevlar and carbon-fibre based monocoque chassis (named T89/10 by Lola).
Nissan's new twin-turbo VRH35 3.5L V8 DOHC engine was mounted in a stressed installation for better chassis rigidity and produced up to 950bhp.

In the 1989 World Sportscar Championship season, Nissan struggled to solve not only reliability problems, but also to find pace from the new chassis and engine.
As a result, the R89C was only able to score points in three races. Even though, it finished the season fifth in the team's championship.
In the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, the R89C suffered the same fate, unable to compete with its developed Porsche and Toyota opponents, leaving Nissan to finish the season third in the championship.
Meanwhile, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, three R89Cs were entered into the race. However, all three failed to finish the race due to mechanical problems.

For 1990, the R89C was campaigned by Nissan for the first race of the World Sportscar Championship until it was replaced by both the R90CK and R90CP. 2 R89Cs would be passed on to privateer teams, with Courage Compétition managing to finish 22nd in the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans with an ex-factory R89C (chassis #01). Chassis #03 was modified by Team Le Mans to become known as R90V. It ran JSPC with a best result of sixth before being retired. It also ran at Le Mans in 1990 retiring at about 7.00 AM.

R89C chassis #02 was rebuilt as an R90CP for use by Nismo at Le Mans and in the All-Japan Sports-Prototype Championship.

Four sprues come packaged in 4 bags; 1 large black sprue, 1 white "body sprue", 1 clear sprue and 2 small white sprues.
One bag with the racing slicks and poly caps.

There is more markings from the casting then on o new model, but it's pretty ok just thin edges.

It is a Tamiya, even if it is from 1990, so all parts fits like they should do!
Cant follow the color sheme to 100% since the description is for LeMans 1989 and I will build from Japanese Sports car championchip 1991.
Have found some some pictures to follow.
Had to change color of the suspension today



Added some more details, wiering, hose to radiators
Aslos some wash on both engine and radiator

Most of the engine ready for now, waiting for some ordered details to arrive.
Primed the body with Ultimate white
Sanded some edges but very little needed


Airbrushed the rims with Vallejo Metal Color-Magnesium
And brushed the outer parts with Vallejo Metal Color-Silver
Will maybe brush the center parts a little darker

Those Group C cars had the knack of looking quick just when they were standing still - let alone when they were unleashed.

Finaly got the decales!
In 1992 it had a different rear wing.
First I wanted to it from build Daytona 1992
Now it will be from JSPC 1991 (All Japan Sports Prototype Car Endurance Championship)

The 1991 model I am making has open rear wheels.
The model is a 1989 with covered wheels
So up with Mr Dremel and start working, have to make new rear view mirrors also

Just lovely and brave cutting out the wheel covers.

Nice work and the colour looks great, you are braver than me going after that wheel cover, but great result.

Some ups and downs, my mistakes only, the kit was great and no problems!
Sinca I changed the year and decales I had to open the wheel covers and then hade to repaint some areas.
Hard to get the same color and had to sand it 2 times before it was ok, not perfect!

But I am pleased with the overall result!
