Who make the best Phantom and F-14 tomcat in 1/48 scale.

I would say academy for the phantom and Tamiya for the tomcat

Agreed, although for the Phantom it might be worth keeping an eye out for the Eduard Limited Edition reboxes, they are based on the Academy kits but come with lots of resin and PE extras :). They aren't cheap and not easily available, when I was looking they were generally going for £60, but it isn't too bad considering the extras they come with :th:

I wish I had grabbed that Eduard Phantom series when it was first out
Their pricing has gone crazy, if you can even find one

Just checked and the Rockin Rhino one is going for £80 on eBay at the moment

The Da Nang ones are both on there currently but are over £100 posted (the Good Morning Da Nang is nearly £130!)

Ya, that wasn’t even on the North American eBay.....just the good morning one and it was $180USD

I just blew my modelling wad on the 1/32 Tamiya p51 and Jack Sparrow’s ship.....so tapped out for a while.

You could also have a look at the 1/48 zoukie mura phantom there lovely kits but a bit pricey.

I have been lucky I haven't paid more then £50 for all of the eduard phantoms
