Hi fellas,
well, its been a good while since ive done any modelling, you know how it is.
So with the start of the new year I thought id get back on it.
I havent got internet in this place yet, so updates will come as and when im able to get online.
My entry to the gb is revells 1/12 ford shelby gt500, its a kit I won on one of the live shows, so huge thanks to Sam for providing the prize!!
this will be totally out of box, (apart from the paintjob). i dont want to scare my mojo off by getting bogged down in after market parts or adding little details, this is purely for fun!

first things first, got the chrome wheels in a bath of mr muscle.

then started the assembly, engine first.

that done got a few other bits ready for primer.

mr muscle has worked his magic!

lots of parts primed, Ultimate black for the most, Ultimate grey on the body.

got the engine fitted, painted in vallejo metal colour and ak extreme metals. i wont be displaying this with the engine on show, so ive left out any weathering.

likewise with the underside!

i make a mistake with the body, cant remember what exactly, but i ended up spraying it in Ultimate black primer!

got the interior built up and painted, a huge mistake here! more of that later. as you can see, im not going for the suggested colour scheme on this, im thinking yellow and black.....

All change!!! after finding that my spare jar of yellow paint was actually an empty jar, i realised i didnt have enough to paint the body. so i chose orange instead! this is Ultimate black and revell aqua colour orange.

needed a few goes to get it somewhere like, but it was still fun. rear windscreen needs a respray in this pic, but thats been done now.
so, back to that big mistake. when i changed to orange, id forgotten that id already painted the interior trim in yellow, and it was all fitted, so very hard to get to. i tried hand painting it but it was too awkward and ended up looking like poo! (see below) So lots of masking was required!

and it turned out....usable.
Untitled by rich applegarth, on Flickr
painted the wheels as well, Ultimate black again, love that stuff!

and thats where i am at the mo. taking it steady and enjoying myself. thinking of doing a gloss coat next, so i hope i stay enjoying it, lol!
as ever, thanks for checking in guys, and good luck with your builds!
