Hi I will be building M-32 Recovery Vehicle.


The parts, there are some lamination issues with the hull it is a old kit hope I can get round them.





Clean up all the suspension parts, assembled units and added the missing bolt hole for the return roller bracket 4 in the front face and 2 in the top also thinned down the skid.

I'm looking forward to seeing more. This is an interesting vehicle, although I can't get excited enough to build one myself since I can't have it running through a battlefield gunning down nazis.

Hi first off I've put right yesterday work by filling all the bolt hole for the return roller bracket on the front face, not a good start


Added the missing bolts to the suspension assembles, return roller bracket and skid, added shear blocks two to each arm , 1 blocck across the unit under the skid to allow the use of a suspension lockout wedge. These were bolted onto the front of the bogies to prevent the suspension from compressing when lifting with the boom,with the suspension locked out the vehicle's travel was restricted.

Assembled the inner hull floor, side tool cabinets, air cleans, tow bracket,exhausts all fitted.This old green plastic is terrible to clean up

Awww great sprue layout and history and stuff! Already added that kit to my list! It all looks really good so far bud!

(even tho your kit was made in 1980 I entered #6203 and 6547. Its a bit newer from Italeri and one is a limited edition. Need to call my LHS!)

These recovery and engineering vehicles are a real feat of ingenuity.

It looks really fun Neil! Never realized that Tanks could be cool equipment tools as well. I know all you tank guys know this but not me (oh rock, where are you??) Yea sometimes I do think I live under one. Found this one when Pete made this post.



I dont think it comes with a truck and the ditch, but man... that gives me Ideas... and Ive never made a diorama as well!

I'm a tank nut myself and I only found out about this one when I saw that particular one on sale in some Finnish shops. I would research Italeri kits really well if you want to buy one of those for your first armour kit, they're often old, old toolings from the 1970s, 1980s or 1990s and a real hassle to make look good. I'm sure PrivatePete can do it though.

Hey Pete nice to see you again Those books would be a real help. I have a tasca version in the postal network somewhere...so they would be a real help....

HI If anyone has built this model they will know the detail and moulding is not that good so I'm replacing parts from my spares box mainly Tamiya parts

Hi, started by assembling the rear stowage bins.




Joined the upper and low hulls and attached the suspension units to the lower hull sides.




Fitted the stowage bins to the rear engine deck.

Coming along really well Pete - as Tony said that extra level of detail is cracking!

Hi got a bit more done over the weekend.Sorry for the lack of written content






Added the missing welds to the boom supports with micro rod softened with TET

Removed molded brackets & remade them from white card & filled dimples & added missing holes & bolts,the Hollebone tow bar managed to split,added spare front sprockets, removed bolt heads & drilled bolt holes & made brackets,made side bracket from w/card and made rear tow bracket from w/card.











Then disaster struckon checkiing something else I realised I had drilled the holes in the wrong place - opposite the prongs rather than the semi circular cut out low points .
So into the spare box for more sprockets,removed the offending sprockets , drilled out new sprocket,remade retaining brackets from w/card.

This is coming along nicely Pete - the added detail makes all the difference!

I love the combination of all the different plastics. The tiny vice is an awesome addition to the front fender too.

Oh wow... awesome detailing Pete and love the fix!! Who would have really known... yea, I know... (you!) I would have done the same, great repair! (Too bad you couldn't have used the little vice on the tank itself for holding the sprocket while you drilled it...hehe)

Cheers Tony I think the 2nd attempt looks a lot better, as for who would have really known I bet some eagle-eyed member would have for sure.

Hi assembld the turret the main work was adding the missing weld seams with micro rod softened with TET.



I cut groove around the top with a v-shaped model chisel for the micro rod to sit in and added the missing retaining bolt heads.

Hi Tony, micro rod is very small white diameter styrene rod it also comes in strip form it's made by Slater's plastikard and I get mine from Hobby's the modelmaker's , I hope that's helped.

Oh cool, Ill have to get some of that. Seems a bit easier than banging around a candle and making stretched sprue pieces. Looks more precise too and faster.

Hi Tommi yes it was a bit of a challenge, I'm luck I have some of the Trumpeter model chisels, they are very useful and would recommend them to anyone .

Hi on to the boom added the missing weld seams with micro rod softened with TET and various brackets


Cut a grove along the support arm for the weld seam




Removed the plastic ladder pegs and replaced with brass wire added welds.

Completed the brass work, hatch, stowage added, weapons fitted, made up some straps for back packs.

Hi pete, I got a little bit curious about where you get those cans and boxes. I am planning to make a diorama in like.... 10 months Also 'm considering the option of do It whit some clay. Scratch build likes saving money

Hi all the can's,boxes are left over's from previous build's but you can get set's of Jerry can and ammo box etc, good luck when you start your diorama .

Whoa, the boom looks incredible! This is almost enough to make me want to buy some sort of a recovery vehicle for myself. The little details you're adding are really cool. What did you use for the jerry can strap?

Hi Tommi, the straps are made from masking tap doubled over, you also get some texture using it, I use CA glue to hold it in place, I've recently been experimenting with silver foil and embossing to make straps,bed rolls, tarpaulins with some great results.

Hi I have finish the building part, made all the cables, tools etc are on it will look neater when finished I've built it to all come to pieces for painting (I'll never get into all the nooks and crannies with a hair stick.

I love it when tanks look 'lived in' and I would love to put on tons of accessories on each of my tanks but it seems I don't have the right kind of stowage in my bits box or then I can't find reference photos for the tank I'm building ever having any stowage on.

Can't wait to see it primed and painted, I bet it'll look even better once all the different building materials are unified in one colour!
That is presuming you do priming.
