Not been here for quiet a while was floored by illness around Xmas time started with Flu which ended up as Sepsis so pretty lucky to still be around. Any how on the mend now and keen to get back to some sort of modelling normality, so started on one of my Tamiya Escort Cosworths, this one is being done as the Racing for Belgium entry of Stefan Prevot and Bruno Thiery from the 1997 European Rally Championship.
Please forgive the mass of pictures have been building well in advance of posting on the forum.
Body shell sanded and all the mould seams removed from the shell and the roll cage polished then primed Ultimate Grey.

Two days later airbrushed Tamiya X2 white thinned with cellulose to the shell.roll cage chassis etc
Next is the build up of the chassis and running gear, all sprayed using Tamiya call outs as per the instructions, added details to the interior scratch built wiring and plumbing for the fire extinguisher systems and the fuel tank.



The wheels went on next these are after market ones from Racing 43 as this car used Cromodora rims these were polished and decaled before being added .

Back to the interior, seats sprayed to represent fibre glass on the backs and the fronts in Tamiya matt Blue, seat harnesses added from sprayed strips of masking tape and photo etch buckles, also added from fine lead wire coiled around a pin the intercom leads. Assembled the roll cage and added the interior sides and the rear panel added the spare wheel along with the scratch built retaining straps.



















Clear parts next have made masking templates for the the front and rear screens kit was released before Tamiya included glazing masks, the shell should be dry enough hopefully tomorrow to make a start on the C.B. Com Transkit decals. Should hopefully be done in the next week or so.
Great to be back and building and enjoying every minute again.

Thanks Paul, going to get a bit of an Escort theme going here soon got the Delacour car followed by another with the Bastos sponsor decals and then a Martini, then finally the Didier Auriol 1998 Escort Kit car sponsored by Hertz using one of the transkits with the front and rear wing changes I do love a good Escort but dont tell the Missus.
PS got some p/e photo etch tyre stencils if your interested I can send some up for you.

Hi Paul I will sort some samples out and get them posted in the next few days or so mate also got some p/e grill stencils for the WRC cars see how you get on with them.

Yes they are quiet rare nowadays Gary was lucky enough to get hold of about 15 of them years ago off EvilBay and from various model shows before the prices became ridiculous got loads of aftermarket sets as well so Escorts are on the menu for a while to come yet.

Small progress today have started tinting the glazing and will separate the two front side windows so the car will appear to have the driver and co driver windows wound down have scratch built a couple of helmets to go in the front seats and test fitted the body shell, hopefully start the decals tomorrow

Work continues, the glazing now tinted using Alclad smoke, and the decals started the one on the bonnet/hood was interesting trying to get it settled over the air intake grilles plenty of Micro set & Sol, and the trusty hair dryer (it's the only need I have for one) lol.








Hopefully three or four more days and should be done.

Only 15?! You poor thing!

Wow really nice detail!

Continuing with the Cossie, remainder of the decals pretty well done, and added the mesh in the front end openings, added the front and rear lights just need to add the mirror lens foil in the drivers door mirror, and a few minor decals to go on will finish off tomorrow

Great job that's a hell of a lot of decals

Escort finished final few decals on and the panel lines accentuated reasonably happy with the final result.

Looks great those drcals must have bern a trial theres a lot of them.

Can I ask what you use for fuel lines on the interior cheers
