So my first build thread in a long time and I'm starting with this very nice kit. The Tamiya 1 48th Bf109g. Love this aircraft.

So started with the cockpit. Completed the tub with little fuss and then the side walls which also fit together well and show nice detail. I like that you can have the engine showing on this 1 48th kit. Nice touch tamiya

Next stage will be painting and a little weathering not much as the canopy will be closed on this aircraft

Build update 2.
So got some paint down on this bird. Cockpit painted in Mr hobby aquious (great paints

). I was going to weather the cockpit but as it was going to be closed up and the size of it I decided just to leave as is and I will focus on the outside of the bird. The kit also goes together great.

Looks like a good start mate.
Saw a build vid of this on Andy’s Hobby HQ, looks like a stunning kit. I really liked the way you can build the engine and show it or swap it out for the cowling. Typical Tamiya. Always the smartest kid in the room

Yeah it's great with the magnets that attach the cowlings ect. Even tho the size is small you can at least show make the model look a bit more interesting.

BUILD UPDATE 3
more work done. Got the engine up and running with the cowlings set up to have it either shown as opened or closed. Also it got some wings. Next job is to fit the flaps and main canopy. Really enjoyed this kit so far

Build update 4.
So she's almost read for painting. Got the flaps, canopy and the landing gear legs all on. Just have a little bit of sanding to do but next time you see her she should have a nice coat of paint

Build update 5 ( last as next post will be in the completed section

)
So major progress. Got the aircraft all painted up ready for decals which is next then going for just basic weathering. She might not look historic but she's looks like a 109
