A Panzer IV Ausf J
This is an older dragon kit re-boxed under the orange box series and dates from 2009. I thought for my first Dragon kit I'd go for one of the earlier models in the hope that it would be simpler.
There were a few issues. The suspension was attached using the positioning lugs on the lower hull, but they appeared to be sloping rather than level.
After removing the suspension, cutting away the lugs and re-attaching the bogies, it's now level. The part priming of the lower hull was added simply to use up the surplus in the airbrush.
Primed
This will get a three colour camouflage scheme for the Ardennes next.

I think you said once, you can't have too many Panzer IVs?
I agree. After getting this kit I've learned a lot about the different versions, and I have a long term plan to do a few of them. Lined up are:-
Ausf D France in Panzer Grey
Ausf E DAK
Ausf F1 Russia
Ausf G with schurzen, Italy, with two or three colour camo
Ausf H with zimmerit in three colour camo, Eastern front
Ausf F featured here, in three colour ambush scheme, Normandy
These will all be Dragon, but I might be looking at other makes too. Then many more years with all the other variants; Nashorn, Brummbar, Stug, etc

They're from the CyberHobby range and are featured as as 'super value pack' kits.
Most often they're earlier kits re-boxed, usually including a figure set. They can be good value on ebay and there's quite a few to choose from. I've also picked up a Stug III and Panzer III kit from the range.
The instructions can be a bit iffy, so you have to be careful, but worth a go in my view.
