Tamiya 1:35 French Armoured Carrier UE

Post by YoseDutto »

My first thread on the forum (excluding the presentation one...)

I choose this kit to experiment with oils and pigments. I've been pushing my boundaries to learn new skills and techniques recently as I was bored to get the same results on my builds. So I start "studying" and practise different techniques from basic to advance ones, like weathering with oils or pigments, figure painting, scratch building and more recently, dioramas.
I also got interested in photography and invested in a DSLR camera (the following photos still taken with my iPhone...).

The kit is Tamiya quality, a little gem, really funny and quick to build, perfect to experiment. It's a OOB build...
I primed the model with Ultimate Grey Prime and then painted it with Tamiya Acrylics thinned with Mr Hobby Self Levelling Thinner.
I'd try the Modulation technique for the first time and I like the result.
Abteilung 502 oils have been used for Filter, Pin-Wash, Rust and Fuel Stains.
Ammo of Mig Pigments for the Dust effect and Mud on the tracks and lower part of the hull.
I then finished the weathering process using a graphite pencil to highlight some of the model angles.

Not perfect,
