My first build on ISM! (Tamiya 1/35 Panther Ausf A

Here it is! my first ISM build. I decided to build the Tamiya 1/35 Panther Ausf A because i just got it in a Metro Hobbies haul. Enjoy the build!


I started with the wheels like most armour kits and yes, that included cleaning and cutting all 24 wheels!!!

Now i completed the turret and added the spare track hooks. Special thanks to DRUMS01 for explaining that on scale models research is key and from some minor research i found the cupola has a grab-handle on it which was not included in the kit so i scratch built one out of some wire. Now i just need to find some mesh for the engine grills. Hmmmm, where could i find that?

More progress on the kit. I started with the hull and decided to damage and rough it up a bit giving i wanted to represent and late 1945 panther with a winter whitewash. I melted the fenders and bent them until i was happy with the results i saw in pictures. The Exhaust pipes were then stippled to create the effect of rust so when i paint the it will look realistic. Take a look!

Great start there and nice touch with the grab handle. Hannant's models are always a good place for after-market bits. Search for your kit and it will list all the bits they have available.
