Just a place holder for now - I wanted to join in the pre-start fun! I'm sneaking time at work to post this but I'll have the rest up tonight!

I'll be trying to model the Vermont Air National Guard version - which I think is really the EB-57B. I only need to make a couple of decals not on the included sheet for the markings.

The Canberra was a lovely aircraft, I used to see them often when I was a kid.

very best of luck with the build!

It's a strange coincidence that I'm building this and the U-2 at the same time. I didn't plan it but it works out pretty neatly since the U-2 came out of the need to have a plane that could fly higher than the B-57.

From the Wiki entry:

“The highest-flying aircraft available to America and its allies at the time was the English Electric Canberra, which could reach 48,000 feet (14,600 m). The British had already produced the PR3 photo-reconnaissance variant, but the USAF asked for English Electric's help to further modify the Martin B-57 (the American licensed version of the Canberra) with long, narrow wings, new engines, and a lighter-than-normal airframe to reach 67,000 feet (20,400 m). Air Research and Development Command mandated design changes that made the aircraft more durable for combat, but the resulting RB-57D aircraft of 1955 could only reach 64,000 feet (19,500 m). The Soviet Union, unlike the United States and Britain, had improved radar technology after the war, and could track aircraft above 65,000 feet (19,800 m).”

The Instructions (a bit 'photo copied' looking but OK):

:pop: That resin looks stunning. I didn't know Canberra's served with the USAF. Unusual for them to import a bird given their defence industry.

Wouldn't happen now. MAGA! :D

The Canberra was in its day the best in the world at what it did and surprisingly agile, I've seen one do aerobatics including looping the loop, I kid you not : awesome aircraft.

It took a specialized aircraft, the U-2, to best it at altitude! :th:

I can't say that I'll be able to finish by the deadline but I will be starting soon! Like the subject of this video I will be running on one engine for a while - at least until I finish up the U-2!

At this point it should be pretty obvious I won't be finishing this for the deadline.

Ha Ha, I kill myself. I won't be STARTING this before the deadline!

I suck.
