So hello and for this SIG I will be building this............

I think this is a Zvezda reboxing but with the display team decals.










I will not be doing the display team colours but will be doing some kind of camo on this one.

Thanks for that, but things do not always turn out like you want them to.

Okay, here we go. The instructions start with the seat which is rather nice for out the box.

The tub "office" has very little detail at all and the side controls are on a decal.
So I glue the control stick in the tub as this is part of the two halves that make up the main body and wings.

At this point I check to see which holes need opening for my choice of ordinance.


There is no flash on the two halves and they both go together beautifully.


While waiting for the fuselage to dry I paint the two-part exhaust in Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver and X-10 Gun Metal.

The tub is painted Mr Hobby RLM 65 Light Blue.
I paint the seat dark grey and a Citadel Warpstone Glow (green) for the headrest, the seatbelts are Citadel Skull White.

I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT THE WHEEL WELLS, you have to get the small dividers in the right wheel well or it may cause problems later on.

The only thing about this so far that I do not like is the two-part air intakes.
In my opinion it is a little bit tricky getting them to fit right, as in my box the parts seem to be slightly warped.
But with patience and part gluing and fixing to the main body, leaving to dry and then gluing the rest, it turned out okay.

I painted the air intakes Tamiya XF-23 Light Blue, the wheel wells and undercarriage will also be the same colour.
The rudder assembly went on next with no problems.

The two-part exhausts were glued and are slightly kinked outwards.

Before the instrument panel goes on I fill the front section with super glue and model rail ballast from my local railway stockist.
The nose cone is also filled in the same way and then fitted.


The kit is starting to come together quickly now.

Okay, so the super glue dried overnight and this morning I added the sights and the two parts that fit behind the canopy (parts 8+9).
I had difficulty fitting them in, so a little sanding was required.
I also have fat fingers and a tremor in my hands.

I used Revell Contacta Clear for canopy fixing.
After two hours I masked the canopy and sprayed the panel lines with a mix of black and brown.
Then the model was sprayed Tamiya XF-19 Sea grey.


The underside of the aircraft was given a lighter coating of Grey allowing the dark panel lines to show through more.
The wheel wells and air intakes will have to be repainted XF-23 Light Blue again.

Love a Mig29 and that scheme looks awesome

So moving on with the paint job, using Tamiya masking tape I covered the parts of the MiG that I wanted to keep Sea Grey.
Then sprayed Tamiya XF-83 Medium Sea Grey.



Drying time today was very quick due to the high temperatures.
After 2 hours I masked over the Medium Sea Grey and sprayed a mix of Tamiya XF-65 Field Grey and XF-83 Medium Sea Grey.


The result after removing the masking looked like this.



SORRY BUT MY PHONE'S CAMERA HAS NOT PICKED UP THE SUBTLE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE SEA GREY AND MEDIUM SEA GREY.

Thanks, apart from the air intakes/ engine covers the kit is a joy.

Next I gave the kit a nice coat of Tamiya X-22 Clear, then I had to go through my spare decal sheets for Russian stars.
This took some time as I kept getting side-tracked by other models.
I got 4 stars that are roughly the same size as the kit decals from Italeri's 1/72 Sukhoi Su-27 and placed them on.


The number 28 came from the Airfix Kamov Ka-25, my son gave me the "BBC" decals.

Once the decals had dried a coat of X-22 was sprayed over the top.
After tea, the meal time not the drink, a wash was applied all over the aircraft and left to dry.


Once dry, the wash was wiped off with a paper towel and cotton buds. Then the rear undercarriage was assembled and fixed to the model.

Okay if you do not know I have two builds running at the same time, which is good because one can always use some paints on both models at the same time.
But today I accidentally lost some of my MiG-29's build pictures.
The ones of the wheel build and the spraying of the Matt Clear mixed with a small amount of white for fading.
And the oil spot and drag staining.
So here are the pictures that I did not lose.
