Ism Friday's night live at the bench what have you been working on for *July 6th*

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?”

NEW! Starting this upcoming Friday, the Live! Crew will not only review your work, they will also pick their favorite build for the week. The entry with the most votes will win an ISM Goodie Bag! It is just one more reason to show us your work each week, so what are you waiting for?

**Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, July 6th**

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show.

Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.
02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.
03). Along with your image, Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).
04). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.
05). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew.

It's been a while but here's Cyber Hobby's Flammpanzer III F1. I used tamiya colours and Vallejo weathering effects on it so far. Still missing most of pigment work.

My Industria Mechanika 1/35 Hornethopter is creeping along (more like a slug than a hornet), but at last I have finished the wings, thanks in part to the ISM Facebook community that helped me make up my mind on final colour.

Wing construction is two clear OHP transparencies with the wing design laser printed onto them, and between those is a piece of tissue paper. This 3-ply combo is then sandwiched between the top/bottom photo etch frames.

The picture below shows them test fitted which is why they're slumped.

Here's the first of what will be a set of five Fokker F-27 that flew with Australia's second level airlines from the 1960s to the 1990s. I've had this project in mind for some time but lacked the kits to do it (at a reasonable price). Having picked up a couple of Doyusha 1/144 kits cheap and some Hawkeye decals at the recent Melbourne Model Expo this project is now under way. First off the blocks, an Airlines of South Australia F-27-200 in the scheme of the late 1980s and early 1990s before the airline was closed. As you can tell from the registration, VH-MMR, this F-27 originally flew in Western Australia. The kit was made more or less straight out of the box. It is a simple but fairly accurate kit though the props need a little bit of work. Paints are Tamiya TS-26 Pure White over several coats of standard automotive lacquer, I mixed the Fokker grey and the metallic bits are TS-83 and AS-12 and good ol' Hubrol 11. Like car models, I guess, the trick with airliners is in the perfect finish and decaling so there is no chipping or washing here. In the background, three more partially built Doyusha F-27-200s waiting their turn.

This week still working on the church for my build series and getting very close to all the main structure being complete.

Picture shows a mock up of the building now the roof space is all glued together, still some curving to be added and fettled with. All 5 wall sections now done (-ish).

All balsa foam curved and shaped to the requirement of the building. Itching to start painting the beast, but will need to figure out base and frame before doing so.

Hope everyone is enjoying good weather and happy Friday all. :pop: :pop:

Finally finished the Belkits Skoda Fabia! Bought this kit from Paul about a year ago...really enjoyed building it but the decals went pear shaped! So it went back in the box for a (long) while. Decided to give it another go so chose some aftermarket decals from MF Zone. Fortunately Sam just happened to have a set of the exact same decals in his stash ...chinny reckon! 😂

Anyway...stripped it back to plastic, reprimed with Ultimate White and painted with Decanted Tamiya TS-26 through my Ultimate Apex. Decals went down really well, with a few bits of user error!
Finished in MIPA 2k clear.
Far from perfect but as my first proper car build...I'm pretty chuffed.
Thanks for reading all of this Dan...you should win a prize!

Finally completed my Revell 1/32 Grumman F3F-3. The Kit was made in 1998 so it 20 years old.
All control surfaces move and the canopy slides open and closed.
The landing gear retract by pulling out the propeller and turning it counter clock wise.

I used Ultimate Gray and White primer, Tamiya XF-8 flat blue for the tail and engine cowlings, Model Master Insignia Yellow for the upper wing.

The body and lower wings are painted with AK Extreme Metals Flat Aluminum.

The Decals crumpled soon as they where placed in water so I bought an after market set from Yellow-Wings. They are made by Microscale. Very good Decals they went down easy and shrank very good with Micro Sol.

Evening folks.

Managed to get the other side of the Dauntless painted today in MRP Sea Blue. Even with testing the flow every time I came back to spray there must have been a blockage that my cleaning missed as a huge splat ensured a major touching-up will be necessary :( Ho hum.....
