eBay UK Model Kit Scams

Post by SteelScooter »

Hi there,

I have noticed lately the increasing number of eBay scams involving the hobby. For example last night I saw a brand new Tamiya 1/35 Tiger for less than £12 delivered. They had around 30 for sale (!!) and if you look at the sellers account it looks like a legit UK account apart from there being only buyer feedback. However if you poke around a bit it starts to look like a fake account.

I was sad to see over 20 of these had been sold. I know you are protected by eBay and would get your money back but you are still lining the pockets of a despicable scumbag. :pistols: There is no way someone is selling brand new Tamiya Tiger kits for £11.38 delivered, I mean delivery is at least £3! Remember if it looks too good to be true it usually is.

:cheers2:

Spotted the same thing for a TAMIYA !!! 1/48 Spitfire selling for less than the 1/72 version. It had "sold" 20 or so as well. Probably the same creep. :bash: Thought it was way too suss and ordered something from another seller.
