tamiya 1/24 Nissan GT-R R33 Skyline

Post by Paul »

Tamiya 1/24 R33 GT-R Skyline. Primed in Ultimate white, base colour is Lamborghini Dirty Diablo purple. It was then 2k in Mipa

I added R34 wheels to this and they were primed in Mr hobby Gx1 gloss black and then sprayed a mix of Mr hobby super metallic Titanium and gold.

I lost the nissan decal for the boot, will get another one elsewhere :(

This kit was to test a few things with my 2k more than anything, but i did swap out the tiny kit brakes for the huge ap racing ones shown and added a big bore exhaust, and fluffly dice.

Nice finish Paul :th: :jd:
What Mipa Products are you using?
I only ask as I have a 1/12 Foose Camaro that at some point I want to finish and that clear looks the business. If you are ever keen to do a vid or Thread on the Clear Gloss coat ie mixing, thinning etc, I'd would be very keen to watch/read
Cheers Gav

On The Bench OK where do I start :wtf:

Its that stuff mate and its brilliant stuff, you may struggle getting it over there though so maybe look for another decent supplier of 2k

Im mixing this 2-1 parts clear to hardener, thats then mixed and i add 10% thinner to the mix. Generally using about 6ml clear, 3ml hardener and 1ml thinner.

I've done a video on using 2k before its on the ISM channel. But i will be doing a new one on using this stuff.

Cheers Paul. I found a NZ Auto shop Supplier of Mipa Products. Certainly more economical buying clear this way. Look forward to the Re-boot video on Clear Coats :th:
