Going to be starting this MiG-21PFM. Being an Eduard, there’s a PE cockpit set, and canopy masks.
I’m also going to use a Master Models pitot, and an Aires seat, and it will be finished with Hataka Orange Line.
I've started by re-doing some of the rivets, and added some extra ones.
Lots of lead pushed into the nosecone, and some on the sides of the front wheelbay. Doubt it's needed, but done out of habit.

These are superb kits
Really enjoyed doing my hungarian version.
I would highly recommend the eduard brassie cockpit, much better level of detail over the photo etch

I love these Eduard kits. This my third one, after a Polish MF (with Swordfish markings), and a Bulgarian bis. Got an SMT, and another MF (to be converted to a Romanian LancR). I’ve got a Brassin set for the SMT, which looks gorgeous.

Aires seat done.
Painted with Hataka Orange Line, and Blue Line for the detailing. Belts are the kits Eduard PE.
Cockpit also completed, and installed in the fuselage. Machcone, and front wheelbay installed too.
Fuselage closed up, and wings attached. Fit is very good.

Seat and cockpit has an amazing amount of detail, nice one!
Are you planning to do the camouflage ,"snake", or the NMF, "swallow"?

I'll be doing the Sand and Brown camo.

The various stages leading up to getting the first camo colour down.
Had a spare canopy, so I used that to cover the cockpit, instead of faffing around with masking tape.
Primed with Ultimate black.
Exhaust is Vallejo Metal Colour Steel and Jet Exhaust.
The green used is Alan’s Russian green, which was also used on the wheels too.
These areas were then masked.
Underside is Hataka Orange Line medium grey, and the first camo colour is Orange Line dark earth.
Some post-shading was done on the grey.

The initial colours for the camouflage are done. The next stage is some post-shading.
Hataka Orange Line Sand Yellow, and Dark Earth used.

The post-shading is finished, and all the masking removed. A little bit of tidying and touching carried out, and the green airbrushed, to replicate where the Russian markings were painted over.
Glossed over with Hataka lacquer gloss, and then the decals applied. Decals were then sealed with more Hataka gloss.

Panel-line wash done.
I used a dark blue/grey on the underside, and dark brown on the upper surfaces.
Then a mixture of dark grey and burnt umber pigments were used, and a silver watercolour pencil has been used to add chips and wear to some of the panel edges. I’ve also used a sponge to dab aluminium paint on some surface areas, to replicate more chipping.
