Here is a photo of my first model in 40+ years. Got a very old Revell 1:90 kit of the Santa Maria off of eBay. Poor kit with many bent or warped parts (huge struggle to get the 2 hull halves together). Should have started with something simpler and newer. Paints used were those that were supplied with the kit (Revell Enamel, which were OK after vigorous shaking and stirring). The paper mast flags are horrible. Did not use the figures supplied with kit. The Portuguese Marine on the far left seems to be standing in the: “I’m a little Teapot, short & stout, here’s my handle, and here’s my spout”! Next model is a Revell level 3 RAF Typhoon Eurofighter, so no more bloody rigging or flags!

I have done a little bit on my Trumpy 72nd Su-30.

I have put together and fitted the engines and intakes with a little sanding and fettling. Used some Ultimate black primer to check seems and sanding. Hopefully I can get her into full primer children permitting at the weekend.

I’ve been a bit distracted from getting much modelling done these past few days so here is as far as I’ve got with the Welsh Models 1/144 Fokker F-27-500. The kit is more or less straight out of the box with a few little details added to give it that sense of je ne sais quoi. This is the second coat of Tamiya rattle can primer - I thought I’d save some time by using the paint straight from the rattle can and, you guessed it, paint in all the wrong places, After a good sanding down this is what it looks like after a try with decanted Tamiya white primer. Closer to completion next week, I hope.

Hey folks,

Progress on the 1/32 Trumpeter SBD-5A-24B:

Wheels on, prop finished and weathering in progress. Several photos show severe wear on the port wing. I may have overdone it slightly but who cares? Just about there, only the flaps/dive brakes, aerials, pitot tubes and radio wires to stick on and it's done.

Thanks for looking.

Paul asked if I'd like to add this to the Telford display on the Ultimate stand. Having never displayed any of my work, I'm a bit nervous... especially as it has been sat there, unfinished for months! So I'm now on a mission to get it finished and onto some sort of diorama...which is also very daunting, having never done any sort of dio before! I should get it started but procrastination is strong 😂

Anyway...this is the 1/24 scale Italeri British Gas Transit...left to rot somewhere, since the late 1980s!

All painted and chipped a long time ago but this week, I've been sorting windows and wheels. Tyres were flattened with a combination of fire, knife and a white Ultimate sander. Windows were streaked with MIG Ammo products then I wanted to recreate the moss that builds up around window rubbers... eventually did it using MIG Ammo Slimy Grime wash then some green pigment which I got by evaporating some Ultimate Algae Wash.

Almost there... then I really need to make a start on the dio! 😏

Manufacturer : Hobby Boss
Kit : Soviet SS-23 Spider Tactical Ballistic Missile Mobile launcher
Scale : 1/35

Keeping the guess work going on what I am working on each week, I removed this one from the safety of it's box and began fiddling with it again, It's a large model with very good fit, but a bit of a head scratcher with all the small number photo-etch parts that need to be added, well can't complain as it's out of the box, so lets get going.

Tune in next week for another mystery out of the box fiddling session

I still refuse to endorse any ISM or Ultimate advertising on my photos

I have wrapped up the Tamiya Mercedes AMG GT3.

It was primed in Ultimate White, painted in Splash-Paints Hell Green Magna, and cleared with Splash-Paints 2K Flat. The decals are from SK Decals and were fabulous. Up until now I have been regretting going with a flat clear, but it is growing on me. I hope you enjoy my Beast of Green the Hell.

Bit of progress on Italeri's DAF Maritime truck. Got the chassis on both the truck and trailer finished. Been working on the cab, and also trying to work out how to get the interior in, after the cab has been assembled. Once that was done, i got it into primer and started work on the curtainside trailer. Lots of gaps once it was together, so filled them all and this is as far as i got. Shes quite a size as you can see!! Hopefully will get the rest primed and get some paint on this week.
