Finally finished this, I started it a few times while doing the Truck but kept having issues with the look of the engine. Eventually I picked up the AK Xtreme Metals and they made a huge improvement.
I'm struggling with the tyre seams. I tried to sand one down but started to look a mess, but for now it will stay as is.
Primer: ZP Grey Primer
Base: ZP Blue Mica
Clear: ZP Diamond 2k
Engine/Metal works: Various AK Xtreme Metals

I built one of these YEARS ago and I still remember how much of a pig it was trying to get the engine and rear suspension/gearbox to line up properly, I failed and I think it ended up in the bin sadly, I've been meaning to have another go at it.
You've done a great job, paintwork in particular looks really nice!
And yeah I've always found it difficult sanding tyre seams, particularly on these big tyres which are really soft and deform as soon as you go near them with any kind of sanding stick.

Lovely build mate
The tyres can be difficult the one you've sanded front left I think looks fine. Perhaps I bit more with finer abrasive and a cleaning, I used a stiff ish flat bush dipped in thinner worked a treat. With practice you can achieve the pealed surface effect.

Tyrell looks really good
Never one of my favourite teams as they stole a win from Villeneuve by moaning about a staggered wing set up
Funny I watched a video of a retro F1 car driving in Japan..Walter Wolf Special actually
Darned if the front wheels didn't have a seam down the middle of the tire!!!!
I was shocked, but still sand mine out as I am sure that disappears with wear.
If you can attach the tire onto a drill chuck and spin them on sandpaper it will remove the seam...and a lot of rubber
Ha, found it...look at 2:16 the front right has a pronounced seam on it, yet in other views nothing
