Almost finished the Hasegawa 1/72 FA-18F Super Hornet
This is for Paul - "I don't want to build anymore damn planes" - Bretland's Twin Tail Christmas build ;)
I took many liberties and gave her a Canadian style, though this is certainly not a CAF plane in reality

Tamiya clear orange canopy, some various whites for her feet and lots of grey everywhere else with a dash of Ultimate dirt on top
I did a black false canopy on her belly and a port side search light for a Canadian touch.
Tamiya clear red on the nose...... get it??? :shifty:

My Friday has changed, so won’t see you guys live for the show, will have to watch you all on the replay

I'm also in with a build for Paul's 1/72 Twinny Finny Wingy Thingy - this is Zvezda's 1/72 Sukhoi Su-27. Nice build so far - just a little filling and sanding but nothing dramatic. Pilot & Cockpit have been done in Vallejo Model Air & Model Colour. Nose cone and vertical stabilisers are just dry fitted so they can be removed to aid masking later.

Have a great Christmas and New Year folks :cheers2:
Cheers, Neil

On the Bench:
Revell 1/72 Millennium Falcon - stalled due to stupidity
Tamiya 1/35 Stegosaurus Stenops

I painted up a Squadron "Moments in Time" WWI display base in 1:32. This is a full resin base for displaying WWI aircraft. I primed using Ultimate Gray Primer. I used Vallejo Model Air paints to get the base colors down. I used Dark Earth, Olive Drab, Wood, and Skin Tone on the various sections. I used Citadel dry paints on the rocks. I let that dry and then used various colors of Ab. 502 oil colors heavily thinned to create some weathered effects. I picked up the base directly from Squadron around noon and had everything finished before supper. Very detailed and easy to get painted up!

Nothing major done at the moment. Working on a fire truck build and the lovely Hobby Boss 1/32 IL-2 Sturmovick. So far only the cock pit done. Using Model master and Tamiya paints. Used pastels for the dirt staining.

Here’s some progress on my Eastern Express 1/144 Fokker 50. The gloss white finish has taken two undercoats of Tamiya white primer, three coats of automotive lacquer and two top coats of Tamiya rattle can Pure White - decanted of course. All has been shot through my adorable new Badger Xtreme Patriot which is living up to its early promise.

The model has been buffed up after most coats to make the finish as smooth and realistic as possible. After all that effort there is going to be no weathering on this one, a few hours spent at Sydney Airport recently watching the airliners come and go reminded me how spotless airlines keep most of their airliners. The tail pale blue is a mixture of Tamiya Pure White and TS-15 Blue to match the blue on the decal sheet which will see this one end up in Skywest colours. (There’s no rescribing here, rescribing panel lines in 1/144 scale is a mugs game.)

Well Mathew i managed to get this finished on Saturday after the show last week. My entry in to #Brit48 on the 'British Aviation in Scale' Facebook group.

Put simply, a Tamiya 1.48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1. Painted using the only primer Ultimate, base colours Model Color and Mr Color, some tamiya panel accent, Ultimate washes and finally some pigments from Pinnacles.

A good mounting on a printed back ground and framed.

Hope you like it.....Merry Christmas one and all.

Managed to get my entry for Pauls non box scheme build done last weekend. It's a Aoshima McLaren F1 GTR with Tabu decals Gulf livery, painted using Zero paints gulf colors and Ultimate black, clear coated it in Zero paints 2k dimond clear. Mostly done out of the box, except for some carbon decals in the interior, wires and seat belts.

This weeks progress on my Hasegawa 1:72 F-35 Lighting II (B version) ‘U.S. Marine’ for Paul’s Christmas group build.

Work on the cockpit:
- added final coat of Tamiya LP-3 flat black lacquer over Ultimate Ultimate black primer
- added Eduard photo etch set to cockpit (first time for me using photo etch).

Fuselage currently in Ultimate Ultimate grey primer.
All airbrush work using Harder & Steenbeck Infinity CR plus 0.2 and Harder & Steenbeck Evolution AL plus 0.4.

Hobby Boss King Tiger 1/35.

Camo tweaked until I'm happy...base of Tamiya XF-60/XF-59 then Mr Hobby Aqueous Rotbraun and Dunkelgrun.
Main pattern done with the Ultimate Apex then fine tuned with the Sotar 20/20.
Given a good coat of Aqua Gloss before painting the tools. Still some more painting to do before a pin wash.

Really loving this build.

Cheers Dan ya little dancer!Image
