Antennae for my 1/24 rally car

Hi all. I'm just reaching the end of my first ever build, the Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC 1998 1/24. It needs antennae & I need advice : . During the build I just planned to leave them out, but I've changed my mind as I think it looks unfinished.

As you can see there are two little raised nodes towards the front of the race number decal, one silver, one black, where the base of each should be. I'm not taken by by the sprue stretching method as I've seen photos of other peoples models using metal of one kind or another that looks really cool. My first thought is that I like the Hobby Design Antenna A set below:

I've seen ISM's Paul gluing these on YouTube on a later, slightly different version of my model but it wasn't clear to me how they fitted. The diagram on the packet concerns me because they don't seem like they'll slip over the top of the nodes. Do they just perch on top? They aren't readily avaliable (everywhere seems out of stock) & will cost about £10 to get them from continental Europe; I really don't want to buy them & find they aren't compatible! Suggestions appreciated :th: .

From what I know there is.... Stretched spru. which I'm sure there is a tutorial out there, quite possible Paul may have made one in his video tutorial series on his Subi.
or buying a after market one to the correct scale.

I do belive the aftermarket antenna is just a peg that fits down in the antenna hole. You might have to make the hole a bit bigger.

To use the mount with the AM antenna you would really need to remove the moulded in one before painting, i just put the actual antenna piece in the there instead and it looked fine

Thanks guys. I opted to try out the sprue stretch technique, after all. AM antennae are more impressive, but for zero cost (and considering it's my first build) I'm satisfied with the result. I used the 2mm Molotow chrome marker (as recommended by Paul elsewhere) to do the silver one, then superglued each onto the nodes: I didn't want to try and open out the microscopic holes that disappeared during the painting process. Lastly, I dropped a bit of paint onto the tips to try and increase the realism, a process I might repeat a couple more times.

Car looks fantastic!! Antennas too. I'm curious, peering through the side window it looks as though you didn't paint the roll bar (at least the front portion) blue, I like that. Kinda draws your eyes in to the interior.

:th: Thanks! I'm going to properly photograph it inside & out at some point, once I've learnt how! What you can see is the grey padding wrapped around the blue roll cage.

It looks good. The blob of paint on the tip of the antenna is a great idea.
