Advice needed please

Post by Richy »

Hi guys , to cut a long story short a few weeks ago one of my best mates who does house and garage clear outs phoned me quickly to say I`ve got a couple of big model kit things and loads of bits of brass stuff , plastic bits and metal bits in in bags etc etc and said do you want them before I bin them , I said DO NOT BIN THEM I will have them.
my wife picked the stuff up last week for me , I was gutted but well pleased if that makes sense to find a revell 1/72 u boat sub and a 1/72 revel flower corvette ship , both are massive , the flower corvette its a platinum edition with the wooden deck , photo etch etc , also a huge amount of after market brass photo etch , white metal and resin stuff , also loads of 1/72 resin bits and pieces and pe which I guess might be for the sub , only down side there were no instructions for either kit , but after a bit of research via revell Germany website , all is well and my wife is going to get them photo copied on Monday.

I`m not a boat/ship builder and these things are huge once built 2-3-4 foot long I guess , my question is do I keep them , sell them as a package or kits alone and aftermarket separate , I don`t know what to do with it all and don`t know what half the stuff is , help me out guys .

Well I'm not a ship builder although I would love that uboat.
To your questions if I was to sell them I would do it as a package with the aftermarket. Simply because to try to sell the bits separate which in theory would net you more cash. In practice doesn't work because first you have to find someone who want that kit then wants to detail it up, but he might only want to use half the bits you have. THEN your stuck with them for a long time untill you find another buyer.
In order to get a quick sale 50 % of retail price and that will be a long winded affair checking a online retailer pricing.
Alternately you could try doing a swap for something you always wanted.

If you do decide to sell them I'd be very interested in the corvette :th:
