My first post here after a return to the hobby. i did have an account but couldnt remember the log in details so decided just to start a fresh account (i only had about 100 posts maybe less on that account so no big deal)

Today i bought this little kit from Hobbycraft to build in the next two weeks in preparation to be airbrushed when i get an airbrush after my birthday.

Looks pretty well detailed compared to the old tool kits and the instructions look significantly better.

Decals look quite nice although it would be nice to get a choice of schemes.

I started with some painting on the sprue and assembling the wheel bay parts.

After that i glued the wing halves together and sanded down the seams. Also had to use a little filler where i caught the wing root edge with the knife when cutting off the sprue (will have to be more careful next time).

And finally for tonight i glued some of the cockpit parts to the wing as suggested in the instructions. These will need painting the appropriate colours when i get a chance.

And that's all for now, i will continue on with the build soon and will post the updates.Also comments and feedback welcome.

So today a little more progress on the build. I have a feeling this is going to be ready to paint well before i manage to order my airbrush.

After leaving some of the cockpit parts unpainted last night, I finished painting the cockpit parts and did a little dry brushing and picked out some of the raised details in black and yellow to bring out the details more.



After the parts dried i glued the two halves of the fuselage together.



Next i attached the wings to the fuselage and sanded the seams down.



And that's all the progress for today. I will post progress as and when i get a chance Thanks.

Hi guys, Quick update today.

I've fitted the rest of the fuselage parts elevators, rudder and the underside tail part. They all fitted pretty well.



The underside tail part has a small gap around one of the edges but isn't very big so im not sure whether to fill it or not as the paint may well cover it.



And finally i also painted the pilot (badly)



Usually i put the pilot in before i glue the cockpit halves together as most do however this time i decided to follow the instructions...
Bad mistake, the pilot doesn't sit in the seat properly and needed quite a lot of force to fit properly so i may leave him out of the cockpit when the plane is completed or turn it into a diorama.

Another small update today. I'e added the intake and filter to the model, didn't take a picture though.
I also glued and painted the prop parts and some of the undercarriage parts.



So now it's a waiting game as there's not much more i can do until i get my airbrush and paint the thing. I did attempt to fill and sand the join seams on the air intake and the fuselage but my tube of filler decided to explode everywhere. So probably time to research some decent putty/filler and not the Humbrol stuff.
Im thinking Tamiya putty? or something similar.

I wished I'd kept building in my teens, keep at it
