Global Scale Modeller

I am very happy to find this site. I have been building scale models of all genres for over fifty years now.

Two years ago I suffered a devastating stroke during a cardiac catheter that paralyzed my left side and left me totally disabled from working. After completing almost two years of rehab, I returned to scale model building to learn how to use my left arm and hand again (I am left handed).

Model building also occupies my time and helps prevent depression or substance abuse issues many disabled persons succomb to. Being a full-time model builder leaves me the time to learn new techniques and the patience to complete project in a slow pace, such as weathering and canopy masking. I am also experimenting with super detailing.

I am building 1/72 aircraft now which is about what my monthly budget allows.

I am very happy to find this site and will try to participate as I can. Hope to find many new friends here.

As well as the forum there's a great Youtube channel: ISM Youtube, a great Facebook site: International Scale Modeller a live show on Friday nights with great laughs, tips and hints and even free prize draws: ISM Friday Night Live at the Bench and if you have a webcam there's off-air hangouts where you can join live which I thoroughly recommend for those long winter nights: Off Air Hangout Group

So pull up a chair and dive in.
