First of all here’s the paints I’ll be using
As always, the first thing to build was the cockpit, went together well, painted and weathered the way I usually do them. I won’t be going into detail how I do things in this build as I haven’t taken photos of all the stages that I’ve done of this build.
The cockpit was then fitted into the fuselage and it was then clamped and left to dry
Cockpit and lower gun bay
I then hunted on the web to fine some detail of the riveting, found one that showed some of it, and then set about doing some riveting
Canopy was masked using Tamiya tape and then fitted in place, I will be making it in the closed position
The two engines are very nice, I will paint them black as I won’t be having them on show.

Looks a nice kit, the upgrade to the obsolete ME 210 with robot rear facing guns the only problem being they were aimed on the target by the crew via mirrors. I have the the ME 163 kit in the stash and if the quality of that kit is like yours you should have a enjoyable build ahead. Not sure if you are aware but there are several mask sets available for this kit. See below

If you have problems tracking down the mask sets try doing a google search using the set edition number this can throw up sets in model shops all over the world.

Thanks m8, I’ve seen the mask sets, just decided to do it the old fashioned way

A bit of a jump forward again
A coat of floor polish(it works for me

) decals fitted then another coat of clear

then when dry, I used the Mig winter paneliner left it for about 20 minutes or so then rub the excess of with a tissue, didn’t do too much weathering on this one, just some exhaust stains sprayed on the wings.
Then fitted the various guns and rockets and props then the wire for the aerial.
And calling this one finished
*must do a bit better on my build threads

Thanks Kev, I sometimes feel it’s a lot of work for something that’s not all seen

It wasn’t that quick, I started it in July, just never got round to posting in here

I feel I’m at a stage in modelling that I’m happy to build straight out the box, especially with a lot of new kits which have pe and resin in them now, I’ve not long finished the Revell 1/72 type IXC Uboat, I built a scratch built pressure hull, cut out all the flood holes, fitted after market pe flood holes, took me around six months, and unless it’s well lit up, all that work is not easy to see. Am I putting in all the extra work so I know it’s there and doesn’t matter that’s it’s not totally noticeable? Maybe I am, and I do feel satisfied with the result, and because of space is limited to display them when they are finished, then taken six months to build one kit seems more sensible to me than building six in the same time scale. I’m also starting to build a different category of kit after I finish one, so this year I’ve built a sub then a plane so now I’m starting a tank to keep it interesting, and keep the mojo going.
