F4U-1A / FG-1, Tamiya 1/48.

Post by pg265 »

Hi,

I've started a Corsair from Tamiya, 1/48th.

Few aftermarket parts were or will be used for this build.
- The cockpit is from AIRES and Waldron,
- ailerons & rudder are from Cutting Edge,
- wheels, exhausts, propeller from UltraCast,
... and I'll maybe use a Vector R-2800.

I don't know yet what will be the final scheme as I hesitate between several and mainly 2...
Recently I finally found a decal sheet of the Seabees from Cutting Edge I was looking for years!

Amazing Pascal. Are those parts of cockpit from aftermarket? I am building Lancaster 1/72, and there are like 10 parts of cockpit, looks really bad :) Since it will be completely covered later, and wont be seen much, there wont be any problems with such "detailed" cockpit, but still...
And how do you upload so many photos in one go? I have just uploaded my first photos and its allowed only three photos max

Nice work Pascal...that cockpit is very convincing and the weathering in the wheel wells is spot on, what green paint did you use...is it Mr Hobby interior green 058 ?

I'm building one of these right now too. I love your cockpit and wheel wells! I just did mine box stock, but next one will get some upgrades for sure! Nice nice work.
