Hey Guys!

I got this kit in a "Secret Santa" gift-swap with my IPMS modelling buddies

One of the conditions where that is should be started on Christmas Day, so I will start the build later today :)

Stay tuned!

Hey Guys!

Let's get started with this

Basically half the kit is dedicated to the engine bay and cockpit area - it would be a case of severe misconduct not to build it with open engine doors
However, all those small parts has an impressive amount of flash so this kit requires a lot of cleanup

The build starts with the powerplant, the Jumo 213E:
Image

We run into issues right out the gates....
Image

I need to add a plate made from plasticard
Image

But it sure looks like a Jumo engine :thumb2:

I will clean up all the small parts and make subassembles, where it's possible before I start painting.

:cheers2:

Short update;

Working on cleaning up more small parts for the engine. It sure is a Dragon kit - lots of small parts... I wonder if they just scaled down the parts from a 1/48 kit

Tons of cleanup to do... :bash:
Image

But I think I got all parts for the engine and frame sorted.....
Image

...so it's finally time for primer!

Thanks KalebB! :)

I don't know much about german WWII aircraft, but I understand that this was the ultimate "Würger" a direct descendant to the Fw-190 D... a really cool aircraft!

Okey... I have finished the engine now. It was a bit fiddly

Weathering

Assembly of the cradle for the engine and the frame for the MK 108 gun

A lot of CA glue was needed - the fit is far from perfect :bash:
