Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has built a Hasegawa kit? I just seen a pather tank kit for sale but have no experience of these kits

welcome any thoughts on them

They're okay in my opinion, not Tamiya standard and some way behind the likes Meng/Takom etc. They're/can be a little hit and miss depending on age plus like many they rebox, still make a nice kit you just have to work a little harder

I have a ton of macross kits in the stash, older ones are so so and annoying to build, the newer ones look a lot better. The main advantage is the vast variety they offer of unusual subjects

As has been posted, they can be hit and miss depending on the age of the kit. That said, they have a decent reputation overall and still have some “best in subject/scale” kits out there, particularly in aircraft. For example, before the new tooled Eduard FW-190’s came along, Hasegawa had the title in 1/48 for best kits. Their 1/48 Stukas, in my opinion, are still the best. Eduard have used several of their kits in their Limited Editions.

Details are generally decent, fit pretty good as well, decals also generally problem-free. Can’t speak to their armour though.
