Buying sprues?

Post by Raz »

Hi, I’m looking to buy separate sprues, especially from Hasegawa.

Does anyone know if/where I can do that?

I know you can mail Hasegawa about missing parts, but I have them, then I would be exploiting the system.
+ It can take anywhere from a week to several months to revive the parts, after writing to them.

Obviously eBay is one way of doing it, but I would like a reliable source of sprues.

Often a replacement sprue can work out almost as much if not more than buying a whole kit, to say nothing of the time you've got to wait. Some manufactures are much better than others. Interestingly and not the same circumstances, in that I had missing parts. A while back I contacted Fujimi over the missing parts, I used their website and their contact us. Stated what was missing and could they help, I thought I'd hear nothing to be honest. Within 2 weeks the part arrived from Japan  and it cost me nothing :th:

As you say you've not lost whatever parts you're after but, why not try the same see what happens, you've got little to lose :th: Even if they charge you it may still work out cheaper than buying a whole kit.

I regularly find that I have made a mistake, snapped a part or sacrificed them to the carpet monster!
I have had to buy a second kit for replacement parts several times, expensive but better than missing out a key piece!
In future I will explore buying replacement sprues

Yes, found that Italeri does sprue replacements, and they do it for a small fee, for 12€ for the sprue I want. And about 20 days of shipping
