Started this build while waiting for things to dry while working on my SU-122

This will be the first kit that I use lengths of track and not the rubber tracks I'm used to. Shall be interesting!

I enjoy the look of this model of Tank quite a bit. Even if the real life vehicle was astoundingly sub-par by the time it entered combat

whats your thoughts on the quality of the kit . Bear in mind it is a 1997 tooling.

There's some flash, no locator pins on pieces that should have them, and some missing detail in a few areas but it's nothing too awful. If it all went together perfect our hobby would be boring amiright

That'll make it not boring

One from a t-34 would be right for it.

I believe so, I've got spares rattling around here somewhere anywho so it isn't a huge issue I suppose

Haven't got much done on the T-26. Been very busy lately, and couldn't get much time on the bench unfortunately

I finished the turret assembly as well as got all the parts for the running gear assembled.

Got a little more done on the T-26 when I found the time today.

Got it painted in Stynylrez primer and Vallejo 4BO Russian Green, as per usual
Will paint the rubber on the road wheels and then get the tracks done next

Got the running gear on and the road wheels rubbers painted.

Next up is to attach the tracks and then the fenders.

I don't know what it is about this build but I just feel almost meh about it. Not sure why.

Got the tracks, fenders attached and the camo scheme I chose applied to the T-26 today.

She's starting to look like a proper tank now, just needs decals and weathering, and I am still thinking of doing a small vignette for it.

The camo scheme I went with was common on several of these vehicle in Mongolia in the late 30's
I really do love the look of this little tenk

Thank ya much Quax, and it'll be quite fun to highlight all the bolt detail for sure, this kit despite its age has some pretty good detail in that regard

Even before coming back to the hobby late last year, I had never really done any camo patterns on vehicles. Preferring to do solid color vehicles, this was definitely a nice change of pace.

Looks right and as others have said nice to see some color on her. Those bolts when they sheared off inside the hull were a death sentence for the crew

The T-26 is finished.

Did a few oil washes, some chipping, unfortunately the rust streaks don't show up really at all on camera but they are faintly there on many of the bolts.

I would recommend this kit to any one who likes pre-world war two armor, some cleaning up to do on parts but nothing serious

One question did zvezda create a problem with the drive teeth not engaging the track ? I have a zvezda Panther and I am hoping it isn't a problem they have with all there kits. I built their Tiger 1, it had a warped deck and I used a after market track set I had as their vinyl track was way too short.

I couldn't get the tracks to set into the teeth at all, I didn't try widening the space between the teeth as I was worried I may make it too thin then. So I just left them, even though it doesn't look the best.

It's a shame about the teeth on the drive sprocket though; sounds like the guy at Zvezda who cast the tracks wasn't on speaking terms with the guy that cast the sprocket.

That looks amazing.
I agree that it can be a bit difficult to show all the subtle weathering on a very dark vehicle like that, but you can see that it's there.
