As promised to tomcat64 I'm here at last I've been looking for something different for this one and came across this little gem the other day so ordered it,I did have a back up helichopper

But me being me wanted something out there rather than build something conventional so here we have the first helicopter by leanardo de Vinci it's a wooden model with some sort of cloth for the rotors/sails

it won't be a complicated build hopefully but I'm really looking forward to it,
Till I open the box
Dan

Cheers chaps

Well I've been a busy boy tonight opened the box about 7.20pm and by 11pm it was done
A very interesting build, although it was basic and pretty simple at the same time it was a pain in the asssss with crappy instructions but I just pushed my grey matter a bit to just look and do rather than look at said crappy pictures and words that must have been translated by someone who is definitely not an English speaking person
For example

Here are a few pictures of the build itself again not complicated just needed to concentrate

That was what was in the box

Some small gears that swap the drive from horizontal to vertical
Then came the big bit at the top (called a canopy in the instructions)

Then the tricky bit putting the fabric on they supplied some small pegs (like the ones you hang out the washing with) so used them to do a dry fit I'm glad I did because much trimming was needed to make it work and look right

Then all that was left was the string which attached to the canopy on the ends of the things that that stick out (not familiar with all the terminology)

And tied off on to some little eyelets that just screwed in the lower ring
And it's done and it works a treat

That's all for that one I will take some better pictures tomorrow for the reveal section
Hope you like it I possibly will end up getting some more of those type of kits as they seem well engineered so till the next time

I was surprized at the size of it. I thought it would be smaller.

Yeah it caught me out too lol but I'm quite pleased that it's big it doesn't look out of place in the cave

Thats a neat build and an interesting choice - this build is covering the whole gamut from state of the art to humble beginnings!!
