Gaia Notes

Post by Motoholic »

Hi all

I noticed today that my local hobby store here in Perth, West Aus has a very comprehensive range of Gaia Notes lacquer paint.

They have some interesting colours in the range, the flouro's especially look very interesting. Nice looking metallics, primers, different thinners for solid colours/metallics. The the packaging also quite is cool in a modern Japanese style. All very tempting but I baulked at the price, about double that of a comparable Tamiya or Mr. Color lacquer.

So has anyone tried them at all?

Cheers

I used the basic colors and metallics (silver, gold). I think they are very good (especially the silver and gold), but don't have many comparable lacquer paints to compare them too beside a few mr colors and the ts-sprays. Keep in mind you get 15ml per bottle instead of 10ml, so they go a bit further. I like the bottles, they have a plastic stopper under the twist top so the threads stay a lot cleaner. I only used them with MLT.

I wouldn't say they were magic, but I liked them a lot. If Tamiya LP wasn't imminent in the USA, I'd probably have some on order.
