Goodsmile BMW GT3 from Wahwah Model shop (ebay)

Post by barryf1fan »

So, after seeing @Hawkmoon awesome GOODSMILE Japan GT car builds I really wanted to try my hand at one as I love the look of GT3's and these liveries are just so cool.

Well, if you've looked for one they are expensive, but one place popped up on ebay that had three different ones (they have different ones for different rounds of the Japanese series) and I grabbed one as it was about 2/3rd the cost of the next cheapest one.

The (only way I can describe the clown that packaged it) idiot that put it in the box was lacking some brain cells... they didn't bother putting it in a box to ship it from Japan to the middle of the U.S. What they did was just wrap a piece of cardboard around the model box and tape it. When it arrived it was smashed on one side and I thought, well crap (another word actually), but didn't have time to inspect the entire contents.

Upon inspection here is what I found:

I can probably fix the crack in the roof and the broken off side skirt, with some putty and sanding I think it will be alright, but can't fix the glass.

Have contacted the seller to see what he is gonna do - but if you buy from them just make sure they ship in an actual BOX.

Well, that was quick...!! So...

Seller already sent a message that he is sending replacement "glass" and body. We'll see.
Hopefully he doesn't just drop them in a padded envelope!!

He has two other versions of the Goodsmile livery from different rounds that I'm glad I didn't order, may if he makes this right.

Holy shoot that sucks
I have had very good luck ordering things from Japan, in fact I usually prefer kits from there.
They are a very honourable people and quite trustworthy on eBay
Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised that bozos live everywhere.
I hope it works out in your favour
+10 points to Oklahoma for not using swear words

This happened to me on a car I got from Amazon.. I think mine came from China. I contacted the seller and didn't hear back so I contacted Amazon and they credited my account. The people just put brown wrapping paper around the model car box and it got crushed.

Does suck incredibly badly yet Like others I have never experienced that problem from Japan. I have from Russia, China and Australia yet I was very lucky and never had much damage to the actual kits.

Some sellers are stupid. I ordered two molotow chrome pen. And they shipped them in standard letter. I got them broken :bash: but this case i think post office is guilty. They are many times violent when they handle letter and even boxes.

I had the same thing with a guy from Ireland on fleabay drop the box in a black plastic bag and off it went it ended up the boxes took some damage and were well out of shape but the kits parts all survived with nothing missing. I have never and will never buy off him again though.

We have some sellers on fleabay that have goods for sale but to try and maximise there profits they dont invest in good packaging because of the cost of it and they wing it hoping it will get there safe.

Sometimes not the posties fault as letters often go through sorting machines which bend the letter this way and that. So placing hard objects in this day and age is not a good idea. A photo etch set may go through yet pens will get broken. A padded bag might have been a better option.
