Best glue for dryfitting models?

Hi everyone, I'm posting on the forum for the first time today in the search for some advice regarding the best temporary glue available for drybuilding models to check the fit of parts, and then wash off again?

I've seen Microscale make some stuff called Micro Liquitape which seems ideal for what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find a reasonably priced bottle out there atm? At least not in the UK? (Have they stopped manufacturing it)

Apart from this stuff I'm not aware of anything similar?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure you need to temporarily glue parts to dry fit them but if you want to, you could use regular masking fluid. It comes off easily and will probably have enough strength to hold pieces together. Failing that you could use Copydex which is basically the same thing.

Most often use Tamiya tape to test hold parts
But also use a pva white glue for say temporary canopy cementing when painting an airplane fuselage
Often use the thicker partly dried stuff at the top of the bottle for what you are asking as it tacks up quickly but still can separate parts

Thanks for the advice, I have used tape to date, but I mainly build car kits and there are some parts it's difficult to judge correctly. I might give the masking fluid method a go first as I have some of that already.

Dry fitting...?? Never heard of it - c'mon, we're guys, we're not even supposed to use the instructions.

In all seriousness, I use Tamiya tape... lay it out on my mat and cut it into small pieces. Usually the 6mm cut skinny lengthwise.
I only started doing this recently, and glad I did it on the Revell Corvette C7R I just did a couple months ago. Wasn't horrible but was able to see a couple of trouble spots.
