The Tamiya 14097 model

Alright my people. I want your thoughts on this. I have been looking a while for that model and dont know why I didnt buy it when it came out 15 years ago or so. Probably cuz Tamiya didnt have any TS fluorescent red and yellow back then. So! Now to the point. I have found this one built as a tamiya masterwork collection at a huge model retailer very cheap (around 50 USD). And what i wanna come to; doesnt the 2004 RC211v and 2005 RC211V look exactly as the RC211V Valencia edition ? Cuz Im thinking of buying a few of the Tamiya 14097 masterwork collection and repaint them to the camel, repsol and movistar/telefonica honda 2004 and 2005 version. I dont really see any difference between the 2003 valencia honda and 2006 hondas either what u all think?

The Tamiya Masterwork bikes are getting more and more scarce. $50 for one is cheap, I would grab it for sure. You could always just paint up the new 213V plastic model. There really aren't a ton of differences to the bikes for the last 15 or more years, except the little winglets they have started putting on the front fairing. There are a lot of changes but most is going on under the fairings, but MotoGP (FIM and Dorna) have done a great job of cost control - unlike the spending frenzy in F1.

Anyhoo, you could do that for sure and you are right, the bikes are pretty much the same kit bar a couple of minimal shape changes to the fairings and wheel spoke designs.

If you find the Telefonica Honda RC211V in the Masterwork Collection, I would grab that as it's worth quite a bit. Good luck with the search.

The links do work.. Otherwise just google Motogp honda 2003, 2004 etc and you will find them. It is 570 SEK plus shipping and import fees, so that is like 50 usd/euros each without shipping and import fees. The 2003 gp honda is the rc211v. And they all look pretty much the same actually. I just compared the 2002 and 2003 Honda and they are pretty much the same. I have the Tamiya 14095 and 14094 already, also the 14092; all unbuilt. But im out for a few more of them just cuz i wanna build more of the honda gp bikes of 2002, 2003, 2004 etc. Like the west honda rc211v for example. And the 14097 tamiya has the same exhaust pipes as the honda rc211v 2004, 2005 and 2006. Also it will be waaaaaaaaay cheaper to buy the masterwork tamiya 14097 for 570 SEK, than buying a few 2002, 2003 and 2006 tamiya hondas overpriced from ebay. The hardest thing will probaby be masking of the brakes, to paint the rims.
