Hi y'all from Richmond, VA

Post by christoph0315 »

Hello Hello,
my name is Christoph, 41, expat from Germany currently living in the US. I'm a car nerd in general, pretty much since I'm alive. Of course I started to glue the first things together when I was a teenager with very little success. I have some great die cast models and am a collector in general.
I usually travel a lot for work and live on 2 different places, so a lot of rush and stress in live style. I'm about to slow down now a little bit, getting settled and looking forward to spend more time home now.

Since corona and my new born I was forced to stay home and created some (new to me) hobbies. I grow orchids and finished the Pocher 1:8 built.

I do like Lambos although I never had one my own. My heart is more towards Porsche in general and Ferrari. Therefore I started of my next built, officially my first model:

I watched for hours and hours Pauls and others video on youtube, own meanwhile a substantial amount of tools, paints and all that. I've never worked with an airbrush before. I'm all about learning the techniques and developing the skills. I'm a very impatient person, this is part of my new "slowing down" strategy.
Nevertheless, I don't want to ruin my Scuderia that I have already slowly started and sanded, so I decided to start of with a little Jeep Wrangler built first.
Anyway, enough about me. I'll share my progress and will most likely ask questions and stick around. Looking forward to this!
Cheers everyone,
Christoph

Welcome!

I live down the road in Virginia Beach. You're lucking living in Richmond, that's where IPMS has their Old Dominion Open each year, usually around February. Tons of model kits being judged for the competition and a pretty good section filled with vendors. I highly recommend you check it out next year when it rolls around. I'll be there, come say hi!
