Global Scale Modeller

Well, I've finally completed my 3rd build! Its the Tamiya YZR-M1 '04. I've gone for Marco Meladri #33.

The engine was painted using Alclad and Tamiya LP's. The body work is painted in the call outs from the instructions. I used a Top Studio super detail set and it was not easy! The instructions for this were not great. they were just completed photos in black and white mainly, with arrows and part numbers. I have a super detail set from the RC213V here and by comparison, the instructions are amazing!

I used some foam from my little girls craft set, painted black, for the seat, lots of little bits of PE and what has to be half a meter of wiring!

The Model Factory Hiro chain came out pretty bad, but I'm leaving it on as a reminder to take more time and be more careful!

Thanks man! It was a last minute idea, I had already painted the seat in the kit, but it looked too plastic for me!

Amazing build, I can only imagine how long it took to complete it. Can you elaborate which Tamiya LP paints were used for the engine?

Thank you! I actually only used Titanium silver (lp-63) for the rocker cover and flat aluminium acrylic (x-16) for the cylinder. They rest was Alclad Chrome and Alclad Steel. I also used titanium gold (lp-62) for the flat piece on the intakes.

I think I mentioned them in the build thread.
