thanks both... was an impulse ebay purchase but for its age it is a nice kit... will use it to try hairspray technique as well as working on my weathering

I like the rise of lights that you have applied to the painting. To be an old kit it has enough details on the outside.

If I didn't know better, I would have thought this was the Tamiya version of the kit. Really nice paintjob so far. For stowage, Andy's Hobby Headquarters has some tutorial videos on how to make bags, tarps and such out of green stuff on youtube.

thanks for the comment... went together really well so pleased with it, from here on in it is a few new weathering techniques
yeah have seen those videos - it's the painting side that I struggle with

The panel line wash really made this look excellent!
I wish I could help with the stowage painting. it's something I struggle with as well. I think that I will try oil paints the next time I do some. It seems like they may be easier to blend out.

Terrific job.
I'd like to hear of the white wash and hairspray technique that you mention.
Great results.

I've just purchased one. It looks a nice kit. Did all the detailing parts come with it ? Or have you added anything ?
Very inspiring work.

This is out of the box apart form the stowage - but even without that it builds up to a nice kit (believe there are better but for the price you can get a good end result

Cracking job on the detailing Rob,
With the stowage I tend to take the same approach as I do with painting uniforms and start with the darkest shade and then gradually build up through the base colour to highlights. Or if I'm feeling lazy then I'll give it a basecoat and then a dark brown or black wash followed by a dry brush of the original tone. Hope that helps

Been watching some tips on painting etc and starting to get my head around it. Building up colours from a black priming voat etc. Amzing the effects that can be achieved in the shadows etc. Just adds that element of realism that you ront get from a straightforward blast with the main colour.
You learn all the time. ... great

The stowage looks great and as far as the...battery(???)... that's totally up to you. The white wash is going to make a lot of it disappear. I feel for you as far as dropping it. The German engineers for the Brummbar did a very poor job anticipating it being dropped on its roof by me.

For the stowage - have a look on YouTube for halftracks at the War and Peace show. Might give you some ideas....

finally kicked myself to do some more work on this, added "dust" as a pre-cursour to mud effects (first time doing dust, used Mig old wood as it is the paint I was using elsewhere, should tone down when I add mud and then other pigments)

Looking nice! Seeing things like this make me want to try weathering, but I don't want to mess up my cars!
Maybe I should get a military vehicle like this? I did a bit of weathering on the WW2 planes I have made.
