Revell Jeep Wrangler

hey y'all,
I'm presenting my first built.
A little bit of history,
the wife and I are expats from Germany. We moved to the US 3 years ago. I had a company car and my wife never had really her own car before. We came from a bigger city and public transport, biking or walking was the way to go. She learned really quickly that this will not be the case here. So I had to do something...

Since we have a baby I adopted the Jeep and she has an SUV. Still, the Jeep will be here and wont go anywhere. Its a great memory for us. Meanwhile its heavily modified as well, new engine, spray inliner, interieur, stereo aso.
Well, this was also the right project in my new (old) model builder hobby.
I purchased the Revell USA kit, which of course is awful. Poor alignment, seams, whatever.
here some built in progress pictures.

and the finished product
I choose the ruby red Ford Zero gravity color to replicate our original color. I've used Valejo for the wheels and did some mods here and there. I did more cut outs in the bottom to open up the engine room a bit and so one.

All in all I'm satisfied with my first build. It was the first time for me using an airbrush. Very exciting. But I also realize how far away from perfect this is. I have purchased already many kits and am slowly starting with my next project. I watch a lot Paul on youtube, this is basically how I got back into the hobby to be honest. Definetely still a long way to go for me to become more skilled but so far this was a good start. The wife is happy as well.
thanks!
