Trumpeter Sd.Kfz.8 CD9J half - Track Artillery Tractor .... build question

For anyone who has built one of these. Is it possible to completely build the main body as a sub build of the whole model.

Ie build the body with seating area, floor and sides including wheel arch area separate from the chassis build ?

I would like to do this to enable painting easier. I have looked at the instructions and it looks possible bit not completely convinced.

Any comments / advice would be appreciated.

Carefully read through the instructions. There may be supports or beams that join the deck to the frame that need to be in the correct position for everything to fit properly, but you could always not glue them to the underside of the deck until painting is complete, instead tape the major pieces together while working out where any adjoining bits fit and glue them to only one of the sub-assembles. Or you may be able to leave much of it off entirely most of the larger half-tracks have a winch reel at the rear under the deck which will never be seen once the model is assembled.

I'll recheck the instructions. On my first glance a couple of areas gave me reason to doubt it would be straight forward. Sometimes it takes a few passes of the instructions for things to settle in. Also, once some of the sub assemblies start to progress, things become clearer.
