Still working on finishing the Colonial Viper Mk 1 off. I am building up the courage to have my first ever attempt at doing a wash to pick out panel lines etc using Vallejo Model Wash. The kit has had a couple of coats of Humbrol Acrylic Gloss coat that been allowed to dry a couple of days. All the parts are now on including the landing gear bay doors. The rear section with the engine thrusters is still dry fitted in case I opt to try the wireless power connectors @bfrd recommended.

Evenin' young Dan/Paul (delete as applicable)

This week I've made some more progress on Meng's 1/35 Wasp Flamethrower Jeep.

I've started painting the jeep itself in various shades of Vallejo ModelAir Olive Drabs and have assembled most of the bits of the flamethrowing gear which are dry fitted for the moment. A few seamlines to deal with but an enjoyable build so far.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

I'm about done with my Tamiya 1/25 Brummbar. With any luck I'll wrap it up this weekend.

    Howdy folks!

I've been working on a Bandai 1/48 Snowspeeder for the Summer Sci-Fi SIG. Primed in Ultimate Matte Black. Painted in a mix of XF-19 and XF-2; no real ratio, just mixed it until it looked right. Orange bits were made in a similar fashion using XF-7 and X-6. Next up will be decals and weathering.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

The Revell Shelby Cobra 289 FIA is finished! There are a few errors with this kit - in actuality it's a 427 body but I'm pleased with how it has turned out. It's also 1/24 rather than the 1/25 it says on the box.
I chose to leave off the chrome bumpers and do the sidepipes in white to give it more of a race car feel.

    Cheers!

    Good evening amusing modellers

Tonight we have a 1/72 Dewoitine D.9 made with a KP Skoda D.1 donor kit and conversion parts from the Dujin resin kit. The wings are painted in Tamiya LP-11 Silver, the fuselage in Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal Silver and the engine cowling is in I-forget-what silver. The Swiss markings were made using Tamiya TS-19 Bright Red paint with white decals sourced from an Azmodel Morane Saulnier type G/H kit (which I’m making using the other decal options).

    1/32 F-15E Strike Eagle:

Seam checking and flaps cut out. Inserts temporary until I can think of a better join for them (may have to remove more on the underside). Still enjoying it though :cheers2:

This past week I have started a 1/35th Miniart M3 Grant. I've never built a MiniArt or workable link track kit before - this is actually only the second tank kit I've started. I'm certain I didn't know what I was getting into - there are too many parts and the photo etch is too small :ooops: I guess I'll be learning a few things. The camo scheme I'll be attempting is in the background.

Continued this week with my efforts to finish some reboxed kits, however this Tamiya 1/24 Mitsubishi GTO didn't go as well as the Land Rover last week.
The body shell has been a bit of a test bed for paint and 2k but after some flatting and polishing looked good enough to complete. I masked and sprayed the black trim but that didn't go too well and whilst removing the masking tape I managed to peel off a patch of 2k and paint from the front wing. Not sure whether to try and redo just the wing or strip the whole shell and start again. Can't win them all, this one is again destined for the box!
Thanks for looking and have a good evening.

    Moebius Models 1/4105 Battlestar Pegasus.

Just started on this one (so now juggling two Battlestars and a Viper...) Primary hull and FTL engine is assembled as you see in the photo. Painting instructions called for a Dark Metallic Grey - so I have used Humbrol #53 Gunmetal over Tamiya grey surface primer. I think its turned out quite well. Its a brush finish in the photo and its actually a bit streaky in places so I may chance using the airbrush to see if I can get a more even finish once the other sub assemblies are added (engines, flight decks etc.)
