Kaiyodo gacha-nen 1/35 Ma. K. Fliege

Kaiyodo, in collaboration with Kow Yokoyama, produced a series of 1/35 scale Ma.K. power suit model kits to be sold in the popular capsule toy machines in Japan.


The entire kit fits inside the 7cm dia. capsule, which is sold in a capsule toy vending machine.



The kit consists of several sprues, some loose parts and (in the case of the Fliege) a clear face plate, a base, a decal sheet, and an instruction sheet that includes full color painting suggestions.


The finished model can be displayed standing on the base, or with the feet repositioned, the use of the clear mounting piece, it can be displayed flying. The base is also designed to snap to one of the capsule halves for a larger display base.


I decided to build my Fliege as a space construction power suit, rather than a weapon, so I converted the weapon arm into a welding tool, and painted the suit the yellow commonly used for construction equipment.

To my knowledge, the vending machines (called gachapon or gacha-nen) are found only in Japan. I got this kit from eBay.
