Evenin' young Dan!

I'll go first this week as I've finished off the Meng 1/35 Wasp Flamethrower Jeep with figures from Masterbox & Miniart.

It was a really enjoyable build and as mentioned in previous weeks it's been painted with Ultimate primers, Vallejo ModelAir & Model Color and weathered with Abt. Oils, AK Interactive & Mig effects.

For those that are interested only the prototype was ever built by Popski's Private Army taking the flame gear from a Universal Carrier and installing it onto one of their patrol jeeps in Italy. The idea was abandoned after testing for being too bonkers even for the British Army.

Howdy all!

Ended up that the Italeri F7F-3 Tigercat still had some release agent on it after I washed it a few weeks ago. The result was me sanding down the offending parts and washing them again. This did however fix the problem and the rest of the build should go according to plan.

Have a great weekend!

Good evening All.
Continuing work on my Tamiya 1/24 Mercedes CLK GTR Teile. Spent most of this week on the engine which is so nicely modelled I thought it deserved some extra attention. Not much to show for a weeks play but a lot of that was carbon decaling. Looks a bit black and white in the photo but so far I've used 6 or 7 different Tamiya LP and Mr Colour Super Metallic colours plus a mix of clears for exhaust staining.
Thanks for looking, have a great evening.

Good evening, Dan and all.

I'm a week or so into the Hasegawa Jaguar XJR-9 LM 1/24 kit and it's finally starting to look like the car itself. I chose not to use the purple decals in the kit so did a lot of masking before putting down some Rustoleum gloss purple paint over the gloss white. The decals have caused me a few issues but that's probably as they are nearly as old as I am - they are falling apart a bit like me too!

I also saw the car itself again on Monday and the kind people at the British Motor Museum let me have a look inside! Image

Most recently finished is the 1/25 revell 1969 Chevelle.

This kit went together pretty nice for a revell kit - there was a little distortion to the frame that CA glue was strong enough to hold square without much trouble. Everything else fit well - watch the long decal, some planning is required as it fits over more parts than you may think.

The body finish is a mission models blue-tinted clear primer, a mission models iridescent blue base coat, all under Tamiya X22 clear thinned with MLT, thru my Iwata HP-CS. The window trim is mission models chrome, and the rest of the chrome is from OOB.

Best,

Evenin' again young Dan

Following the completion of the Wasp Jeep I've embarked on building Bronco's 1/35 A34 Comet for the late war group build.

The kit's got a few quirks and some warpage to deal with but has gone together ok so far.

The resin mantlet cover is from Accurate Armour, and the metal barrel is from LionMarc.

Hi guys, hope you've had a good week! I managed to get my 1/20 Tamiya McLaren MP4/4 finished this week!

Primed using Ultimate black and white, painted with various LPs, X and XFs, Alclad, Zero and Mr Hobby. The decals were old and didn't have the Marlboro logos, so I got some Hobby Design decals for it, and for the red, I photocopied the old decals and used that to make a mask for painting. Full detailed cockpit, suspension (Scratch built shocks for the front) engine, breaks and the rest, mainly from the top studio detail set, along with some scratch building.

I hope you like it! Have a great weekend!

Evening all!
Here's where I am up to with the Hasegawa Jaguar XJR-9 LM 1/24.i made the decision to venture into using LEDs for the first time ever - as some have said, the Group C lights in the 80s probably would have been more yellow but I've decided I like it as is after trying some yellow sharpie. Tail lights are lit in red as well.
I'm close to finishing - all that's left is the rear wing, windows, few extra decals and some PE and panel lines.

Cheers!

Hello all

Monogram Shelby Cobra 427 S/C 1/24. Body AK 3rd gen 11179 ultramarine and other paints AK's 3rd gen.
Trying some weathering with paints and it's hard to know what's too little or too much.
And the Monogram Shelby Cobra itself, I can say it's not Tamiya quality, parts don't fit properly, chrome parts are big but it's Cobra, so...
