Hi

Post by MattiJay86 »

Hi all, new to the forum and to the world of scale modelling.
In the past I used to DJ so had a 2 turntable/2CDJ 4 deck set up at home and also went snowboarding fairly regularly, but then a few years ago settled down and we now have 2 children under the age of 3 so obviously these things are now out of the way in the loft as the kids need a bedroom

I wanted a hobby I could do at home so that I wasn't going to get nagged for never being in, my first thought was Lego but I don't have the space plus the decent sets cost a few hundred quid so remembered the models I bought as a kid and watched some videos on Youtube. I can't get over how real some of the builds look that people make and didn't realise the amount of detail you can go into, hope my builds will someday look like that. Anyway bought myself an Airfix starter set (Ford Fiesta WRC) and got hooked.
Currently working on Tamiya R34 Vspec which is not far off finished, anyway think I've waffled on a bit too much. I will probably post some pics when it's done to get some feedback.

Hello and welcome!

My two boys are 5 and 2 so I can relate to your position totally!

I also started out with 1/32 Airfix kits but now mostly build 1/24. I just finished the Skyline R34 myself so look forward to seeing yours.

I've started putting some tips and tricks as well as builds on YouTube. You might find some of them useful!
Cheers! 👍
