I saw on one of his B-17 build videos he admitted they were closing.

I liked their stuff, especially the pre-made resin vignette things. I really didn't like their webstore.

However, it'll be sad to not get anymore of the Squadron walkaround books. It was awesome to get those for a couple of bucks.

This is a sad tale that is all too common. I am going to miss making an order in the morning and picking it up from the warehouse in the afternoon. Having all that gear 5 minutes away was awfully nice.

Something that should never have happened. A good business in the toilet because of ego's and bad management.

Did anyone else get a notice from a lawyer concerning Squadron's bankruptcy case? I am trying to figure out if all of their previous customers got one, or if I had an open order with them that I have forgotten.

I did not receive a notice. At the time of their demise I didn't have any open orders with them.

This doesn't help now I know, but it is way I keep track.
I color code (red) my orders in a purchase folder until they arrive that way I always know whats outstanding and it takes no time at all to do.

Seen a lot of specialist modelling product related companies and magazines come and go over the years either due to inept management, being axed by corporate bean counters, or in the case of cottage industries quality issues or owners retiring and simply shutting up shop or being unable to sell the business on.

Changes to trade agreements don't help either.

I've used a Canadian company called Ultracast for some lovely resin stuff but I got a mail from them a month ago saying new trading rules meant they could no longer ship to the UK due to the admin burden / costs of the new trade situation.

That's damn irksome. You'll have to book a holiday to Canada when things quieten down and stock up.

Do you have any friends over in Canada? If so - get the items shipped to them and give them the postage to the UK. One of the insanities of this world is I have to do the same thing for stuff from the USA for Living History - yet I can get anything from Russia or any the old Eastern Bloc delivered to my door from the suppliers!!
As an example I am looking right now at a pair of 12th C chain mail gauntlets - a little firm in the USA makes them but says they won't ship to the UK because they are "armour & weapons" so prohibited by US carriers. A friend in Colorado is more than happy to send them on though which kind of shoots holes in the "prohibited" bit. Conversely a firm in St Petes in Russia also makes them - maybe slightly lesser quality but as I'm not actually going to be hacking anyone to bits - or vice versa - that's not so important - and are happy to ship direct. Both items are custom made
