Tamiya Ferrari F1 F60 1/20 scale

This is the first model that I'm really paying attention on building just like the real car. Tamiya does not replicate very well the engine parts and colors in the engine compartment, so I will try to replicate as much as I could, even though I find this kit very interesting and highly recommended because once finish you will see that it's just a piece of art. The aero, architecture, decals, and color makes it very special. I wish one day Tamiya decide to replicate Lewis Hamilton Mercedes F1 W10 or W11 and definitely I will be framing that car in my living room.

Here is part one of the build if interested :thumb2:

Very nice indeed. I share your wish for a Tamiya Mercedes hybrid F1 car.

Question is, would you build 44 or 77, or (God forbid) 6? :eeek:

Hi - Are you able to answer a couple questions about the seat belts? Is there adhesive on the back of the seatbelts or are they just paper? What does Tamiya mean by "instant cement"? The instructions say to apply just a small amount of instant cement to the belts. Thank you!

The Tamiya seat belt sets are adhesive backed, so you cut them out, peel them off the backing sheet, insert through the relevant photo etch piece and then fold the belt back over on itself and it sticks together keeping the PE part where you placed it.

"Instant cement" is generally CA glue.

That sounds so easy, but I have to say, doing these belts is quite difficult!

I'm still plugging away on this kit. I don't understand one of the instructions. There is a "don't use cement" symbol at the top of panel 6, but it is unclear what that applies to. There are multiple connections in that panel. I took a picture but I can't figure out how to post it here.

Hi There,

In order to post photos you will need to host them on an external site such as Flickr and then link to them from the forum. Unfortunately the forum currently doesn't have sufficient capacity or bandwidth to host directly uploaded photos.

There is a quick guide on how to use the Flickr integration on the forum ---> here

Hope that helps.

I realise this post is a month or two ago, but for anybody wondering the same thing the symbol is just telling you for when you come across it further into the build. You'll notice the symbol in the next step (7) next to the poly caps telling you not to glue them so the wheels can rotate 👍
